GRASSROOTS PRIMARY PRODUCER
Bright Mountain Oils is situated on the South African border of Lesotho, where our treasured rosehip berries grow.
As a hands-on primary producer, we have developed expertise in wild harvesting protocols, rural community supply chains, track and trace systems and processing technology.
OUR BOTANICAL FAMILY
FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS
Sustainability through Accountability
As a family owned business, we believe in doing things consciously and as a community. Consciousness is the common thread that weaves its way through every aspect of our business, ensuring awareness not only of the product and process, but also of the environment, plants, animals and people involved at every stage. This fosters an environment of ethical practice, accountability and sustainability.
BMO takes a holistic approach to creating sustainability in the African herbal trade economy.
“Creating sustainable trade in local communities is a cornerstone of our business,” explains Dane Poulsen (Managing Director).
Our botanicals are wild harvested by groups of local women across Africa.
"We want to develop strong relationships with our harvesters," continues Poulsen. "It’s essential that we secure a supply chain which becomes a cornerstone to village life.”
WHY SOURCE FROM BRIGHT MOUNTAIN OILS?
Raw plant material is batched according to village, which means that each batch can be traced back to the specific family who harvested it.
QUALITY & PURITY
The raw plant material selected must meet our quality standards for purity. We produce organically certified products. Everything we produce is tested for pesticides, microbes and heavy metals.
We implement advanced filtration steps that take African crude oils to shelf-ready ingredients with crisp clarity. This process includes dewaxing, fine filtration and polishing, and colour management.
