MOISTURISING AND ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTIES

Moringa oil contains three varieties of Vitamin E (α-tocopherol, Υ-tocopherol, δ-tocopherol). It contains phytosterols and cholesterols namely β – Sitosterol, Campesterol & Stigmasterol all of which provide healing properties. Rich in antioxidant flavonoids, compounds which exert a protective effect on the body. Even in small amounts, they exert strong health benefits. It is known as Ben Oil because it contains up to 10% Behenic Acid which is a saturated fat that lends to the oil’s stability and is exceptionally moisturizing to skin.

Moringa oil has a phenolic content and includes the flavonoids gallotannin and procyanidine, which together with minor fatty acids may be responsible for the mild anti-bacterial activity of the oil. Moringa Oil offers therapeutic support for excema and topical fungi infections, and has also been found to significantly reduce sun spots.

ABOUT THE PLANT

Moringa was first described around 2000 B.C. as a medicinal herb and is documented to have been used by many different ancient cultures including the Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks. Ancient Egyptians treasured Moringa oil as protection for their skin from the harsh desert weather and made a mixture from the seed, which was used as a skin ointment with antibacterial properties

SUSTAINABLY SOURCED & HARVESTED FROM MALAWI.

Malawi is the poorest country in Africa and we have formed a close relationship with Malawian families who we have educated on the potential of Moringa seed as a cash crop. They are committed to harvesting Moringa for us and have as a result seen great financial and social benefits over the past years. We have been consistent buyers from these communities with benefit sharing agreements which have developed a long-term trust. We will work with the communities to enhance their delivery of raw material to us thus ensuring you continuity of supply.
